The architecture and interior design industry is hinged on the ability of spatial understanding and aesthetic visualization. Often what seemed perfect on rendered images and 3D models, does not make the same impact in real spaces and in context of other pre existing elements. Augmented Reality takes away the subjectivity of visualization by allows architectural designs to be visualized in 1:1 scale and in context of the pre existing structures and buildings, so give a ”true to life” understanding. The layouts of an apartment can be visualized by walking thru the virtual space both using AR portal or VR walkthrough, thereby eliminating misconception of size and spaces. For interiors, AR allows users to try out various layout, furnishings and options without expensive trials and errors and get a real sense of available space and correct sizes to be selected. Town planners can visualize the impact of a new landmark or building and in context changes to landscape. In Construction AR is being leverage to validate utilities layout and interface to validate designs and layout before releasing drawings for construction.
